[www.inewsguyana.com] – Carlton Wheelers’ Robin Persaud clocked a time of 10 hours, 26 minutes and six seconds to win the eighth Annual Five-Stage Road Race on Sunday, October 19 which ended on Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.
Persaud was able to top national cyclists, Alanzo Greaves by a slim margin of nine seconds while also outlasting Geron Williams by 16 seconds for the overall title.
Marlon Williams finished fourth while Paul De Nobrega rounded out the top five cyclists after the 266 mile event across Guyana.
Michael Anthony finished first in the junior category while Shaquille Agard finished in second and Alonzo Ambrose third. Raphel Leung was presented with a special prize for being the youngest cyclist to cross the finish line after four days of intense competition.
