[www.inewsguyana.com] – Local racer, Danny Persaud is confident ahead of the upcoming Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMRSC) September 28 Meet scheduled for the South Dakota Circuit.
Persaud, who is second on the points table of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship behind fellow Guyanese Krisitan Jeffrey, related that it is because of the extended support from his family and the thrill of racing on home soil that has his motor going.
Unlike many of the cars, in the competition, Persaud’s Mazda Miata lacks horse power but has been a “reliable” machine for the category four racer.
“The car has been performing well, we have been able to get it to remain reliable throughout the season and while we may be at a disadvantage In terms of horsepower, our reliability has been the real key for us and we hope to continue to use it to our advantage for the remainder of the season,” Persaud stated.
After, the two first place finishes in Trinidad and Tobago that was highly impressive, Persaud related that while he was not affected by the bumpy track, he has more belief in his ability ahead of the September 28 meet that he is using for the final leg of the Caribbean tournament set for November right here in Guyana.
Persaud, who believes the motor racing sport is growing to rival much more established sports such as Cricket and Football in Guyana, shared that attendance at the November edition of the Caribbean leg will be unmatched.
