Several senior administrative functionaries are being exposed to a strategic planning workshop with the hope of building their capacity in ensuring that the resources of their agencies are prudently managed and utilised.
The workshop is being hosted by the training division of the Bank of Guyana and facilitated by IDEA International’s Dr Frederic Martin, a Management Specialist.
At the opening of the workshop this morning, Dr Martin said strategy planning is the starting point for any exercise.
However, he noted that merely having a document is not enough but it needs to be used as the guide to everyday action.
Feature Speaker, Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh said with Guyana’s reality of finite resources, it is absolutely imperative that admin leaders manage with a strategic framework.
This, he noted needs to go hand in hand with results based management.
