[www.inewsguyana.com] – A pensioner was placed on $80,000 bail for threatening to chop his sister. Sixty – two – year old Mohamed Bacchus of Albouystown Georgetown pleaded guilty with and explanation. However, Magistrate Judy Latchman entered a not guilty plea for the man.
The court was told that on September 28 at his home, he made use of threatening behavior against his sister Bibi Bacchus. According to police prosecutor Vishnu Hunt; the accused was under the influence of alcohol when he picked up a cutlass, advanced towards his sister, pushed the cutlass to her face and told her that he will chop her. The prosecutor said the woman who was fearful for her life made a report to the police station after which the accused was arrested. [Royan Abrams]
