Investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 23:40hrs last night (Saturday March 05, 2016) on the Unity Public Road, East Coast Demerara, and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Deodat Ram.
It is suspected that 48-year-old Deodat Ram, of Helena No.2, Mahaica, was struck down by a motor cyclist while he was walking along the roadway. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Police said the motor cycle was found abandoned at the scene without the registration number.
