[www.inewsguyana.com] – A fifty-five year old pedal cyclist of Corentyne, Berbice is now dead after he was involved in an accident on the Corentyne Public Road on Sunday.
According to a police report, at 18:45 hrs on Sunday September 20, 2015, at No.1 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, pedal cyclist Shanti Delana died after being involved in an accident with a motorcar.
Police stated that the driver of motorcar HC 5768 was proceeding along the roadway, when he collided with the pedal cyclist who is alleged to have swerved into the path of the motor vehicle.
Delana received injuries and was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced DOA.
Police say the driver is in custody assisting with the investigations.
