Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a patient at the National Psychiatric Hospital in Berbice.
Ravinand Yudeshwar Bishram, a patient at the institution for about five years, was reportedly beaten to death.
Bishram, 52, succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving medical treatment at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
No arrests have been made.
