…Chairperson ordered to leave drug bond during tour
Members of the Parliamentary Sectoral Committee on Social Services visited the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) today (Wednesday) to examine and observe the operational procedures of the hospital.
During the tour, Chairperson of the Committee, Dr Vindhya Persaud deemed it necessary to visit the location where medical drugs were being kept. However, this did not sit well with the hospital’s management and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Allan Johnson, requested that she leave the bond since it was not a part of the announced tour which was confined to only four departments – Accident and Emergency, Surgical Outpatient, Cardiac ICU and the Pediatric Unit.
INews will provide a more detailed story later.
