Firefighters reacted promptly to a scene on the Rupert Craig Highway, East Coast Demerara (ECD), where a parked motorcar suddenly exploded into flames shortly after 14:00hrs today.
Based on information provided to INews by an eyewitness, persons noticed a significant amount of smoke emanating from the bonnet of motorcar, PLL 6429. However, before anyone could react, the vehicle burst into flames and quickly spread throughout the car.
This online publication understands that no one was inside or near the car at the time of the explosion, however, the entire vehicle was destroyed.
The owner of the vehicle has not yet been identified.
