[www.inewsguyana.com] – The multimillion-dollar Park Vue Hotel and Lounge, which is located at Farm, East Bank Demerara, was officially re-launched on Friday evening, under the new ownership of Fazil Mirza, proprietor of the famous Windies Sports Bar in Canada. The hotel has been under new management since January 1, 2015.
During the grand re-launching ceremony, which saw performances by local artistes, the hotel also launched its Mashramani costumes. Among the gathering at the event were Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, along with his wife Yvonne Hinds, Minister of Tourism Irfaan Ali, and Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) Indranauth Haralsingh among other diplomats and stakeholders.
According to the new owner, his aim “is to further promote the hotel, which is something that was not given enough emphasis before … and what better way to do that than through Mashramani.”
He said this is based on the fact that over the weekend prior to Mashramani 2015 there will be several events that will include a pool party, featuring the Melody Makers Brass Band out of Suriname, and a Carlsberg “Happy Half Hour” from noon to 18:00h on February 20. On Saturday, February 21, there will be “Mash-Up the Bank Celebrations,” featuring Jomo Primo, Sammy Baksh, and other local singers.
On Sunday, February 22, there will be a Chutney concert, featuring Young Bill Rogers and other top local chutney artistes. These activities are sponsored by Carlsberg Beer.
Mirza expressed confidence in Guyana’s economy and said his investment is proof of this. He added that he wants to create a facility to allow individuals to see Guyana at its best, and for people to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel offers a full package inclusive of 32 spacious rooms, restaurants, poolside, bar, boutique, spa, gift shop, and other amenities. It provides suitable accommodation for both leisure and business activities and offers something for every family member.
