The Parika, East Bank Essequibo, fisherman who brutally chopped his former partner and her mother at Greenwich Park last Wednesday night and then ingested poison, died yesterday morning at the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH), where he was being treated.
Reports say on the night in question Bhawanie Harrinarine stabbed his reputed wife several times and wounded her mother during an altercation and moments after ingested a poisonous substance.
The couple had separated sometime ago, but Harrinarine would often visit the woman at her parents’ Greenwhich Park home.
Relatives related that earlier in the day, they saw the man with the poison but had not realised his intentions was to consume it.
Meanwhile, according to a source, the two women are recovering well at the Georgetown Public Hospital where they were admitted for medical treatment.
