Concerned parents and members of the Parent, Teachers Association staged a protest outside the Ministry of Education, Brickdam headquarters this morning, Friday September 13.
The parents are protesting the space issue being experienced at the St. Roses High and St. Agnes Schools. They are of the view that at the commencement of the new academic year St. Roses High is taking over St. Agnes Primary.
Students who are preparing for the National Grade 6 assessment are being affected by the ongoing issue between the two schools.
Parents are furious at the way in which their children have to cope. They explained that since the start of the new school term, students from St. Agnes have nowhere to sit and learn.
The parents are calling of the ministry to have a corrective resolution as soon as possible. PTA Committee Member Edith Ault related that the space which both schools are in conflict for has to do with housing the St. Roses 6th form.
Ault said they are being locked out and sometimes bullied from the building.
On the first day of school students were locked out of the building almost half the day.[Nickhail Jaundoo]
