[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Police Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), is investigating yet another allegation of police assault.
Forty seven – year – old Deon Gherow of Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast is claiming that he was assaulted by police ranks following his arrest at about 17:00 hours yesterday (Friday, August 1).
He was at the time being arrested during investigations into a report of break and enter and larceny.
Gherow has alleged that he was assaulted by police ranks while on his way to the Anna Regina Police Station and also while at the Police Station.
He was taken to the Suddie Hospital where he has been admitted for medical treatment.
