[www.inewsguyana.com] – Royston Waldron, the main suspect in the disappearance of Saint Stanislaus School Teacher Nyozi Goodman was this afternoon (Friday, November 14), shot and killed by Police at Alexander and Pike Streets, Kitty, Georgetown.
According to ‘A’ Division Commander Clifton Hicken, the now dead man along with two others was accosted by the police resulting in an exchange of gun fire.
During this time Waldron was reportedly shot and killed. The suspect was subsequently taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The man’s two accomplices have been taken into police custody and the police recovered .32 Taurus, four spent shells and one live round.
The three men were reportedly about to commit robbery.
Police investigators had reason to question Waldron during the initial stage of Goodman’s disappearance.
Goodman, of William Street, Kitty, was last seen with another teacher at the Sports Hall where she had taken a few of her students to participate in the Inter-Secondary School Basketball Championships. There are reports that the teacher told her students that she would be staying behind as she expected someone to pick her up and take her home.
