[www.inewsguyana,com] – The Ministry of Education has revealed that there will be no transfers for students whose parents wish for them to move to a school which require higher marks than was earned by the student at the 2014 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, all placements of students were made based on the performance of the students and the capacity of schools.
“There may, however, in some circumstances, be lateral transfers. This means that a student may request a transfer to a school within the same mark range and listing as the school to which they were initially placed. A request for such a transfer will only be granted if the requested school has space to accommodate additional students.”
The Ministry reminded Head Teachers that they are duty bound to ensure that students entering their respective schools have the appropriate marks.
