[www.inewsguyana.com] – The police are yet to make any progress in their investigations as it relates to the gruesome murder of 19 – year-old Ashmini Harryram of Lusignan, East Coast Demerara who was shot in her head on Thursday, July 10.
Commander of ‘C’ Division, Christopher Griffith told iNews today that they are hopeful for a break in the case since the Force is doing its best to solve this crime, which has shocked the East Coast Community.
iNews understands that at around 11:15 hours, last Thursday Harryram, who is a cosmetologist was walking home with her cousin on the Lusignan Railway Embankment, just after disembarking a minibus, when a gunman approached, took away her cellphone and shot her in the head before escaping in a Burgundy car, which was parked waiting.
Eyewitnesses also told iNews that the license plate number of the car was blocked. The relatives of the young woman are now questioning the motives behind the murder and are wondering why the gunman did not rob the cousin as well.
The teen’s body was left in a pool of blood on the Lusignan Public Road before she was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Family members remain in a state of shock.
Too bad many young kids are brainwashed by rappers.
They were told not to snitch.
This is one of the biggest reasons why criminals are not readily caught.
We need to establish an anonymous and rewarding hotline.
They took the cell phone. Cell phone have contacts.
They should comb her phone records.
They should also contact all body shops to see if the vehicle is repainted.
They may also want to review all video and cameras.
Almost looks like she knows this person. Hope this person is not one of her clients.
The waiting parked car must be seen by someone.
Hope this worm gets caught.
