Charges are yet to be laid against the suspect in the fatal shooting of former slingerz Disk Jockey (DJ), Sheldon Cheddie, popularly known as DJ Cheddie.
According to police sources, a Post Mortem Examination and the Director of Public Prosecution’s advice must precede any charges against the man.
The source told iNews that investigations into the shooting are progressing well.
The suspect, who is currently in police custody was apprehended by friends of the late DJ and public spirited citizens who gave chase after the shooting.
He was beaten and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital and was discharged hours later, after treating lacerations. Hospital officials confirmed he sustained injuries to his head, abdomen and hands.
The now dead 36- Year – old was reportedly shot approximately seven times by two men on bicycles around 20:30hrs at Turning Point, Tucville on Tuesday (September 9).
Cheddie was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
