A young man on Tuesday met his demise after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a bridge in New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The dead man has been identified as Keon Bacchus, 22, of Levi Dam, Mount Sinai, commonly referred to as Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam. The accident reportedly occurred at about 1:00h after he borrowed a motorcycle, CK 1142, to take a spin.
Based on reports received, the now dead young man was hanging out with friends when he borrowed a motorcycle, and as he was negotiating a turn, he reportedly lost control and slammed into the bridge.
He was reportedly flung into the air and landed on another bridge, thus resulting in him sustaining severe head injuries. He reportedly died on the spot.
His lifeless body was picked up and taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
Inews understands that at the time of the accident, Bacchus was not wearing a safety helmet and was driving at a fast rate.
