[www.inewsguyana.com] – Following two consecutive days of bomb scare, the Government Information Agency (GINA) and the National Communications Network (NCN) have heightened security measures with priority emphasis on employees’ safety.
In a statement issued, the two government entities noted, “While these threats identify with a pattern during the National Budget season, the management of these two entities views these with absolute seriousness.”
About 17:00 hours on Friday, April 11, the receptionist of NCN, received a telephone call from a male caller, who claimed that bombs were on the premises.
On Thursday around the same time there was a similar incident where workers of the two entities were forced to abandon duties, while the local bomb squad and the Guyana Fire Service were summoned on both occasions and conducted a thorough sweep of the premises.
