[www.inewsguyana.com] – Sources at the Georgetown Public Hospital and a relative have confirmed that eighteen month old Travis Rudder Jr, who was shot six times to the foot and abdomen on Sunday morning (June 21), remains in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
While doctors continue to keep a close eye on the toddler, iNews has been unable to confirm as to whether any bullets were removed from his body. His mother, Mawanza Gill also remains hospitalized at the same institution and is said to be recovering.
His father, Travis Rudder Snr, a miner, was killed after gunmen opened fire on them through a window of their Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home at approximately 1:40 hrs on Sunday while they slept.
They were taken to the hospital where 26-year-old Rudder was pronounced dead on arrival. Meanwhile, police sources have confirmed that their investigations led to the identity of several persons who were involved in the shooting.
Locating the persons should not be hard for the police since from all indications they are well known force. The senior Rudder was once charged with the murder of his ex – girlfriend but was acquitted by a jury of the charge in 2007.
It was reported then that he shot his girlfriend with a .32 revolver after they had an argument over infidelity issues but the man’s Attorney said that his client was playing with the gun when it went off.
