[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – nine – year old Dwayne Kennedy succumbed to three gunshot wounds sometime after 5:00 hrs today, Saturday March 14 after he was gunned down at Golden Grove, Market Square East Coast Demerara.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force, the incident occurred sometime around 00: 30hrs.
Reports indicate that Kennedy, who resides in Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara was shot four times after he was approached by four men at the Market Square.
Family members told reporters that after Kennedy was shot, he was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital; however he succumbed to his injuries a few hours after admission.
Relatives are pointing their fingers towards a man with whom Kennedy had a two year old dispute.
According to the relatives, on the fateful night, the man saw Kennedy, walked up to him and proceeded to discharge several rounds in his direction, three of which hit their target.
He sustained gunshot wounds to the head, neck and abdomen. Police investigations are ongoing.
