A man hammered his wife to death and then killed himself early this morning, Saturday August 3, in their Jonestown Mahaica, East Coast Demerara home. The woman has been identified as 26 – year – old Vanessa Richmond-James. The dead man has been identified as 30 – year – old Ryan James.
According to information thus far, after ingesting a poisonous substance, the man ran over a neighbour’s house and collapsed. The neigjbours became suspicious and went in search of the man’s wife, when they made the gruesome discovery of the woman’s bloodied body on the couple’s bed.
A bloody hammer, suspected to be the murder weapon was also found at the scene.Police later reported that the woman’s body was found with multiple stab wounds.
