[www.inewsguyana.com] – Fifty – seven – year Bennette Beveny was this morning killed in an accident at the Montrose Railway Embankment Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
According to a police media release, Beveny, of Beterverwagting, along with pillion rider, Alicia Penheiro of Enterprise, ECD, were proceeding along the Railway Embankment on a motorcycle, when it is alleged that a motor lorry which was proceeding in the opposite direction swerved into his path and resulted in a collision.
Beveny and Penheiro received injuries and were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where Beveny was pronounced dead on arrival, while Penheiro was admitted for medical attention.
The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
