A man is now injured after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV along the East Coast Demerara Public Road in the vicinity of Ogle.
The identity of the injured man is yet to be revealed.
Reports indicate that he was riding motorcycle CH 4902 at about 15:00hrs when the accident occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, the motorcyclist was proceeding east along the road at a fast rate, while the SUV was proceeding south along the Airstrip Road when the collision occurred.
One man who witnessed the accident said that the motorcyclist jumped the traffic light which signaled stop and collided with the SUV, which had the signal to go.
The bike rider reportedly lost control and was flung across the road and ended up onto the parapet resulting in his injuries.
Regional Commander Royston Andries Junor, in an interview with this publication, confirmed that the injured man is currently in stable condition.
An investigation has been launched into the matter.
