A man and his 50-year-old mother are now in police custody following the discovery of an unlicensed weapon, live rounds and a quantity of marijuana on Tuesday evening.
Based on reports received, the man was seen by ranks acting in a suspicious manner along Norton Street, Georgetown. As such, a search was conducted on his person which led to the discovery of a .32 Taurus pistol and four matching rounds.
As police took the man back to the home he shared with his mother –a vendor- on Norton Street, another search was conducted and one .38 round along with a small quantity of marijuana was found on the premises.
The two were apprehended and an investigation is ongoing. (Ramona Luthi)
