[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 57 – year – old woman of Siriki, Upper Pomeroon River died on Thursday, November 27 at the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was bitten on both feet by a Labaria snake.
According to reports, Marilyn Narine, a mother of seven children, was returning home from her farm at Siriki with her husband and daughter when the snake bit her.
iNews understands that she accidentally stepped on the tail of the snake when it bit her. She was rushed to the Charity Hospital, where she was then transferred to the Suddie Hospital and subsequently to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she died three days later.
Only recently, a Miner was bitten by a Labaria snake in the jungle at Port Kaituma in the North West District but he managed to survive.
