[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two women accused of the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, were both placed before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, where they pleaded not guilty.
It is alleged that 31 – year – old mother of two, Odessa Pollard of Lot 19 East La Penitance, Georgetown and 51 – year – old Kathleen Flormont, who is a Mediation Security Officer attached to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport had in their possession 12.348 KG of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking on November 05 at the CJIA.
They were remanded to prison and are scheduled to make their next court appearance on November 30. iNews had reported that at around 5:00 hrs, ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) uncovered several packs of cocaine disguised in packets of Kerry Gold Milk.
The discovery was made when the ranks conducted a search in the suitcase of Pollard. She was slated to depart on a Caribbean Airlines flight destined for Trinidad and Tobago.
