A thirty-five-year-old mother and house wife of lot 25 Bushot village on the Essequibo Coast was granted $150,000 bail for a sexual offense charge. She made her first appearance before magistrate Ester Sam on Wednesday at the Anna Regina magistrate court.
She was charged for two (2) counts of the offence namely arranging or facilitating the Commission of a Child Sex Offence. The charge was read by the Magistrate where the mother pleaded not guilty. It was said that the mother haboured a male to have sex with her under age daughter. She was not represented and told the court she does not have bail money.
Prosecution objected to bail. However, bail was granted at $150,000 on each counts. The case will be called again on August 23. (Indra Nathram)
