Fifteen – year – old Kelly Clarke of Victoria Village, East Coast Demerara was found dead on the Victoria seawalls this morning, Wednesday July 24.
The young man was reported missing on Monday July 22 and a report was made to the Cove and John Police station.
Mother of the deceased Donna Clarke Hope said that on Monday morning Kelly assisted her to carry her bread to the bakery before he went missing.
She told him not to venture onto the sea walls because he cannot swim. Hope said when she returned home her son was not there.
She decided to search for Kelly as the place was getting dark. Hope said she asked several persons in the area if they saw her son, some replied that indeed they saw him at the sea wall during the day.
She then made a report of a missing person but was told by the police that the 24 hour did not pass.
However, she continued to search until today July 24 when she received a phone call that indeed her son was found dead at the sea wall.
His sister stated that she suspects foul play as her brother cannot swim. She noted that Kelly was always following friends regardless if she or family members tell him not to.
The family is asking the police to bring justice to those who are culpable of the gruesome act. Kelly attended Golden Grove Secondary and leaves to mourn one sister and four brothers.
