Minister tells cops in Jamaica to wear condoms

1

ROSE HALL, St James — Some policemen believed security minister Robert Montague was joking yesterday when he told them they needed to wear condoms.

However, Montague was in no joking mood when he urged members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to wear condoms if they know they won’t be able to maintain their obligations should the women with whom they get intimately involved become pregnant.

condom“If you cannot maintain the results of your relationships, wrap it up. Too many officers are in court for [child] maintenance orders,” Montague argued.

He was addressing the first day of the 73rd Annual Joint Central Conferences of the Jamaica Police Federation. The two-day conference is currently being held at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa in Rose Hall, St James.
