[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Sophia minibus conductor was today remanded to prison after he was slapped with three counts of robbery under arms before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine – Beharry.
Andre McPherson, 29, of Stevedore Housing Scheme, Tucville, was not required to plead to charges; one of which alleged that on September 02 at Lamaha Park, Georgetown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Marcia Duke of a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and two diamond rings worth $160,000.
The second charge alleged that on the same day, he robbed Wendy Griffith at gunpoint of a Television Set valued $78,000, two sliver rings valued $25,000 along with $37,000.
The final charge alleged that McPherson armed with a gun, robbed Alicia Brown of $10,000 in cash.
McPherson was represented by Attorney – at – Law, Dexter Todd, who made a failed bail application. McPherson was remanded and the matter was transferred to Magistrate Judy Latchman for January 19, 2015.
