The three miners who had been reported missing a few days ago in the Omai mountain area, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) have been found and arrangements are presently being made by both the Natural Resources Ministry and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) to have the trio transported to the capital city.
This is according to the Ministry of Presidency who in a release today stated that the three men identified as Gavin Van Sertima, Anthony Van Sertima and Kwastan Lewis reportedly left their mining camp to look for a mining block belonging to Onica Williams.
Reports are that the trio who are relatives went missing on February 14 after they lost their way while they were returning to their own camp.
According to the Ministry of Presidency, members of the GGMC and the Guyana Police Force (GPF) embarked on a search and found the three men walking along the trail.
“They appear to be in good health. The men will be transported to Georgetown shortly,” the media release said.
