A miner was on Friday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court following an attempted murder charge, which alleged he tried to stab a man to death on Boxing Day.
Thirty-three-year-old Kenroy McPherson was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that on December 27 at Christiansburg, Linden with the intent to commit murder, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Clifton Craig.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail. He revealed that the victim is still critical in the hospital since he received severe injuries to his temple, neck and other parts of his head.
The Magistrate upheld the Prosecutor’s objection to bail and remanded the accused.
The case will continue at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on January 20.
