[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 32 – year – old miner is now dead after falling from a moving boat in the Pomeroon River on Saturday afternoon.
Reports reaching iNews indicate that Rawle Boyan of Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon fell overboard while urinating from the boat when he lost his balance.
iNews understands that the miner, his brother and several friends went to his uncle’s home at Friendship and celebrated his birthday; he was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
According to reports, the boat stopped and turned back for him but he had already disappeared under the waves of the Pomeroon.
A vigorous search was immediately mounted for the missing man, who was found shortly after in a lifeless state.
