[www.inewsguyana.com] – One hundred million Guyana dollars has been earmarked for the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to facilitate the upcoming regional and general elections.
Two contracts for the sum received Cabinet’s “no objection” on Tuesday, April 14.
The first contract which is valued at $32.8M will be expended by GECOM on infomercials for elections.
The second contract valued at $US320, 000 which is equivalent to about 67 Million in local currency will be used by GECOM to procure sensitive items for the elections.
These items include; ballot papers, statement of polls, tally sheets, ink and other such materials associated with the elections.
A well placed source within GECOM said the source of these materials, especially the ballot papers, remains a highly guarded for obvious reasons.
Meanwhile, the cabinet this week also gave its “no objection” to a $219M contract to procure medical supplies for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corp.
I want know where the hell the ppp getting all this hundreds of million of dollars to spend. I think India giving this Government some Billion dollars.
The Government need to approve some money to purchase surveillance system for every polling stations to monitor every details of the voting process. Possibly body cam too. The PNC/AFC has been doing good in their false and wicked Propaganda through Kaieteur News aka Kooteur news.
We must not forget how they “RIG” the 1985 Elections in giving the PNC 77.6% and the PPP only 15.6%.
Also 1973 Elections They used Jamaicans, babies, dead people, and other nationals to vote PNC. RIGGING is all PNC know.
