[www.inewsguyana.com] – The mentally unstable man of Danielstown, Essequibo who went on a rampage on Tuesday rendering a pregnant woman unconscious was shot by police on Wednesday, February 04 when police attempted to arrest him.
The man of unsound mind known as “Bolo” was shot in his leg and arrested by Police officers this afternoon.
According to reports, the man was cornered by Police officers just after 14:00 hours at Hampton Court village and shot in one of his feet after he lunged at the officers with a crow bar.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Suddie Hospital where he has been admitted and is under police guard.
The man, who would normally roam the public road and streets naked, was a threat to the general public especially young girls.
Several residents of Danielstown said they are relieved that the man has been taken into police custody; however residents are calling for the man to be given adequate medical attention for his mental condition while in police custody.
