[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man of unsound mind went on a rampage just after midday on Tuesday, February 03 in Danielstown Essequibo attacking a pregnant woman and causing extensive damage to private property.
According to eyewitnesses, the mentally challenged man, only identified as Bolo, attacked and rendered Narifa Singh unconscious, after he stormed into their yard with a piece of wood.
During the ensuing commotion, Bolo struck the pregnant woman to the ground where she remained in an unconscious state. She was rescued by her mother and other relatives and rushed to the Suddie Hospital.
One family member of Singh told iNews that the four months pregnant woman saw the man hitting the windscreen of a car and rushed to drive it away when she was knocked unconscious.
Damages to the car are estimated to be more than $200,000. The matter was reported to the Police at Anna Regina. The man who lives in the village is reportedly still roaming the public road. The Police have failed to arrest him.
Residents of the village say he is a serious threat to the community.
