[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyanese will soon have access to the services provided by a new medical testing facility in Georgetown called QualiTEST. The brand was developed by Guyana’s Yvette Irving, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field of medical technology.
The new laboratory while offering the standard range of tests will also offer the services of a medical clinic to clients.
This includes the services of the consultant doctor who will be there during the evenings.
“What we’re trying to do is work with our clients to ensure through precision and professionalism that you have a healthy life. We want to make a difference.”
Irving, who is the company’s CEO and Managing Director, says to offer a quality service to Guyanese and especially one in her field of expertise has long been her dream.
Ms Irving has served in several countries in this field and currently works as a consultant around the Caribbean accrediting various medical laboratories for the ISO.
Apart from the Caribbean, Irving has taken her expertise as far as Africa.
“I started from humble beginnings and I’ve worked my way…all of my training, the governments both past and present are responsible for it that is why I would like to ensure that in Guyana the population, has an opportunity to get quality testing.”
The official launch of QualiTEST is scheduled for Tuesday October 8 from 17:00 hours but the lab is still awaiting its licence from the Minister of Health before it can begin work.
Also needed is its accreditation from the Guyana National Bureau of Standards. Looking to the future, Irving says it is her aim to ensure the lab achieves international accreditation within the first year of its operation.
QualiTEST is located at 21 First Street Alberttown, Georgetown. [Delicia Fletcher]
