[www.inewsguyana.com] – A mechanic, charged with three counts of robbery under arms, was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine – Beharry.
Quacy Roberts pleaded not guilty to the charges, one of which alleged that on October 18 at East La Penitence, Georgetown, being in company of another person, armed with a gun, he robbed Teresa Fredericks of one Samsung cellular phone valued $3,000, one purse and $10,000 cash.
He is also accused of robbing Jermaine Knights on the same day at East La Penitence of one Primo Motor car valued $2.8M.
The other offence alleged that on the same day, also at East La Penitence and in the company of others, armed with a gun, he also robbed Knights of one Samsung touch cellular phone and $43,000 in cash.
Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant, told the Court that after the accused was apprehended by the Police, he assisted in recovering the car’s engine, while the shell of the said vehicle was recovered at another location.
Roberts on the other hand, told the Police that he has no knowledge of the offences and that he has never seen Knights before.
The case was adjourned until November 17.
He is going to be a re-cycle court case, in today out tomorrow,
