Former Press and Publicity Officer in the Office of the President under the PPP Government, Kwame McCoy, along with Sean Hinds and Jason Abdulla, will be making their first court appearance today at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court in relation to ‘throwing faeces’ into the face of well-known newspaper columnist and social activist Freddie Kissoon almost six years ago.
It is alleged that Hinds, Abdulla and a third party were being held in connection with the Courtney Crum-Ewing murder case and they reportedly told law enforcement officials that the attack on Kissoon was planned and organised by McCoy.
On the day in question, Kissoon had just exited the Nigel’s Supermarket on Robb Street, Georgetown in the evening and was already inside of his vehicle when a man walked up to his vehicle and threw the faeces on his face.
Reports are that Kissoon subsequently pursued his ‘attacker’ driving behind him as the culprit ran towards the northern direction along Light Street then headed west into North Road before he managed to make good his escape by jumping into a waiting white Toyota AT 192 carina motorcar.
