An Amelia’s Ward man was remanded to prison on Wednesday by Magistrate Clive Nurse on two charges.
The accused, 23 year old Lloyd Waterton, a mason of 1146 Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden appeared at the Linden Magistrates Court, charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, unlawful wounding and escape from lawful custody.
It is alleged that he broke and entered the home of Lois Buchoon located at 1153 Amelia’s Ward on Friday February 12 with intent to commit a felony.
The second charge brought against Waterton stated that he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Shawn Peters on the same date at Republic Avenue, Mackenzie. He pleaded not guilty to this charge and was granted $50,000 bail for the offence.
It is also alleged that he escaped from the lawful custody of the Mackenzie Police Station on Tuesday February 16, while he was being held for the offence of breaking and entering a dwelling house in the night with intent to commit a felony.
The charge was deemed indictable therefore he was not required to plea. The cases were adjourned to March 16.
