iNews understands that the man of East Ruimveldt was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill two of his children with a cutlass. Police suspect that he took his own life by hanging himself with a vest.
Commissioner of Police, Seelall Persaud has since ordered the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and the Criminal Investigations Department to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
iNews was informed that Harrinauth was previously charged with a similar offence and was placed on two years bond to keep the peace. He was also an alleged alcoholic.
