[www.inewsguyana.com] – French National, Marceino Browne today pleaded guilty to the offence of illegal entry before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
The Court heard that on July 3 at Charity, Essequibo, he entered Guyana by sea and disembarked without the consent of an immigration officer. He informed the Court through an interpreter that he is an electrician with no prior or pending convictions.
He explained that his family lives in France and he came to Guyana to get married. Browne said he came via boat and that the immigration office was closed upon his arrival.
He was fined $30,000 with an alternative of three months imprisonment.
