An East La Penitence man was today placed on $20,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore for assaulting and threatening to kill his wife after she refused to have sex with him.
Thirty – nine – year old Milton Brandt pleaded not guilty to both charges when they were read to him. The court heard that on August 14 at East La Penitence Georgetown Brant assaulted and threatened Sharmain Davidson.
According to the prosecution’s case, on the day of the incident the couple had an argument which stemmed from a call Brant received from his children mother.
Later in the day, the man reportedly requested that his wife have sex with him and she refused. This led to another argument during which Brant allegedly choked the woman and hit her several times about her body.
It was also disclosed that the accused threatened to kill his wife. The Magistrate placed Milton Brant on $10,000 bail for the assault charge and $10,000 bail for the threatening language charge. Brant will return to court on September 13. [Royan Abrams]
