The young man who was robbed and shot outside of the Dynasty Sports Club on Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, on October 1, 2016 has succumbed to a gunshot wound at the Georgetown Public Hospital earlier today.
Gregory Garraway, 25, was in the company of his brother, when he was robbed of a gold chain and sustained a single gunshot wound to his chest by the lone bandit.
He was rushed to the Balwant Singh Hospital then subsequently transferred to the GPHC Intensive Care Unit, where he was hooked up to a life support machine.
Reports indicate that Garraway and his brother were standing in front of the Dynasty Sports Club when he left to make a purchase at a shop situated across the road.
However, while crossing the road, Garraway was accosted by a man who held him at gunpoint and relieved him of a gold chain he was wearing. A scuffle ensued between the two resulting in Garraway being shot once.
The bandit subsequently fled the scene.
Police investigations are ongoing into the matter.
Garraway leaves to mourn his parents and six other siblings.
