Police have confirmed that a 32 – year – old man was last evening, Sunday, July 7, 2013, shot dead during a robbery at the Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara seawalls.
The dead man was identified Tyrone Boodhoo, of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.
Police stated that about 9:25PM, Boodhoo and a female identified as Martha Mohamed, 23 years, were at the seawalls, when they were confronted by two men who ordered them to lie on the ground.
At this stage Boodhoo attempted to escape and was shot by one of the men. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The perpetrators took away a cell phone from Mohamed and escaped.
