A 38-year-old taxi driver of Kitty, Georgetown was last evening robbed of his car, phone and cash at Pradoville, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The incident occurred at around 21:10hrs as he was plying his trade.
Reports are that the taxi driver picked up the three passengers at Mandela Avenue who requested to be taken to Ogle, ECD.
As the taxi driver turned onto the Ogle Access Road, the passengers requested to go into Pradoville.
Upon reaching a dead-end in Pradoville, two of the passengers placed ice-picks at the victim’s body and demanded he hand over his valuables.
The other suspect then searched the man and relieved him of his phone and cash.
The perpetrators then instructed the victim to exit the motorcar and then they made good their escape.
The taxi driver was robbed of a silver Allion motorcar valued $1.5M, a Samsung phone valued $27,000, and $41,000 in cash.
