[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man charged with trafficking cocaine was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan on Wednesday, July 08.
Edward Isaac pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on July 07 at Waterloo Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession two grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The 34-year-old unrepresented man informed Magistrate McLennan that he works in the interior and that on the day in question, he was eating when a police officer approached a “rasta man” and collected “something in his hand.”
Isaac recalled that the said police officer then approached him, carried out a search on his person and claimed that he found the illegal substance in his possession.
Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones did not reveal the prosecution’s details in the matter; however the case was transferred before Magistrate Fabayo Azore for July 16.
