Police are now investigating the circumstances that caused a collision on the Soesdyke Public road, East Bank Demerara at 05:00hrs today, which claimed the life of 33-year-old Herman David.
According to the Police, David was the driver of motorcar PTT9168 which slammed into a parked truck. It is unclear whether David was speeding at the time or had fallen asleep at the wheel.
The Premio motorcar was completely damaged, and the vehicle “split apart” as a result of it slamming into the rear of the truck that was parked at the corner of the road.
David was reportedly travelling home to Georgetown after dropping his wife off at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport earlier in the morning. (Ramona Luthi)
