[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 41-year-old employee of Banks DIH was given a two weeks suspended sentence by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry after he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court charged with simple larceny.
Christopher Bobb pled guilty to the charge which stated on Monday, April 27 at Water Street, Georgetown, he stole three Cadbury chocolates together valued $2,133, property of Bounty Supermarket.
The unrepresented man apologized for his misconduct after telling the court that it is his first time.

Is he still working at BANKS DIH? This is one of the more respected, successful and reputable companies operating in Guyana and one of the oldest. Any company would want to have honest and reliable employees and this employee certainly does fall into that category regardless if it’s his first offence. May be this is the first time he got caught. He pleaded guilty and got off lightly. Hopefully, he has learned his lesson.
Stealing is a crime it can lead to looting!
Bobb should also be fined and banned from establishment where chocolate bars are sold.
